February 2008, Japan only, in black (MK6-K) and silver (MK6-S). Refinements only: tighter tonearm-mount tolerances, OFC wiring, better damping, higher-grade LEDs, improved pitch accuracy. The 35th-anniversary MK6K1 (1,200 units, December 2007) shipped with a gold record. Two years later the line was dead.
Changes from predecessor, vs MK5/M5G: incremental quality refinements; no new features.
