How this is paid for

00.1Affiliate links

Some outbound links to shops earn a commission if you buy. They are always drawn as a bordered button and labelled with the merchant, never as plain body text, and never disguised as a reference. You pay nothing extra; the merchant pays out of its own margin.

00.2Citations are never monetised

This is the rule the site is built around. Every factual claim here links to its source, and those source links carry no affiliate code of any kind, including the Reverb and Facebook Marketplace searches used as evidence for used prices. Turning evidence into a revenue stream would give us a reason to shade the evidence, so the code keeps the two apart: citations and commerce links are built by different functions and rendered by different components.

Nothing on this site is a paid placement. No manufacturer, shop or seller has paid for coverage, position, or a favourable verdict, and the buyer's inspection will happily tell you to walk away from a deck we would otherwise earn a commission on.

00.3Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records pages viewed and outbound shop clicks. It does not collect anything you type: the identification key, the cartridge calculator and the inspection checklist all run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere.
